King of the Rock Next Steps
by posted 02/24/2021

Just wanted to update everyone on the 2021 King of the Rock (KOR) pre-season scrimmage tournament. First, if you haven’t decided if your player can play or not just let me know and we will get them on the roster.

As expected I was just told we have to complete two waivers 1) KOR Liability Release & 2) COVID-19. These must be completed electronically prior to your game day but I’d like to have them done sooner. They will be sent in a separate email.

Below is all the information I have as  of now and will keep everyone updated as we get closer to game day. Let me know if you have any questions. See you at practice Monday.

Welcome to the Spring21 Lacrosse Season
by posted 02/17/2021

We are back and ready to go!  For anyone who does not know me my name is Chris Heese and I will be the coach of the team along with Jeff Thomas.  We can't wait to get back on the field.

I wanted to let everyone know the practice schedule for the upcoming season. We will be starting practices on Monday March 1st from 4:30pm- 6PM. Practices will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at Village Green Park (3590 N. Carefree Cir, 80917). I have decided to hold our parents meeting for the first 10-15 minutes of our first practice. I look forward to seeing everyone and please bring any questions you may have.

Preliminary Schedule

Club Practice Starts – March 1st

King of the Rock - March 6th/7th

SoCo Kick-Off Classic  - March 14th

2021 Season Starts – Apr 3rd

CYLA Championships – May 15th/16th

Steamboat Lax Classic - May 29th/30th

Colorado Lacrosse Championship - June 5th/6th

Colorado Games - June 12th/13th

Our regular season game days will be on Saturdays starting April 3rd and continue through May 8th. Some weeks we will have a double header and we may play on Saturday and/or Sunday. The schedule has not been released  but all of our home games will be held at El Pomar (2212 Executive Cir, Colorado Springs, CO 80906) and away games will take place in the greater Denver area. I understand we will only have one week  of practice before our first games at The King of the Rock  but I believe the boys will be ready to go.

We all have busy schedules but practice is essential for success in the game of Lacrosse and I would really appreciate high participation in practices. I will always try to get all of our practices during the week so make up practice will be held on Fridays.

The practices will be full contact and the boys will need all of their equipment. This includes Lacrosse helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, mouthpiece, cup, gloves, and stick. Cleats are highly recommended. If you do not have the equipment Pikes Peak Lacrosse offers a rental program and the rental request form can be found on the website.

We cannot wait to get the season started and if anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me. Many questions can be answered by the website.  I will be sending out reminders for practices and you will be able to respond if your child will be able to make practice. I would appreciate it if you are not able to attend a practice to please let me know so I can plan practices accordingly. One last thing and a critical component of our team will be finding a parent to volunteer for team manager. The responsibility of team manager will be to set up a sign up sheet for snacks after the games, as well as little things throughout the season. Please let me know if you are willing to be team manager ASAP.

I believe at times like these sports are crucial to our young and am committed to doing everything I can to have a safe and fun season
